Xinobi!

From the latest release by Lisbon-based collective Discotexas, "Forbidden Cuts EP," is Xinobi's new track "Valsa in NJ." I have no idea what the song has to do with my home state of New jersey, but this is one of the funkiest tracks I have heard in a while. I am absolutely loving this one. I played it out on a big system for the first time this past weekend and I was blown away.

Ocelot, Bird Peterson

This is a newly released remix of a years old song that never got much play to begin with for one reason or another. I'm not sure exactly what happened but I know that at least the Treasure Fingers remix of this tune has been around for at least two years. I've seen him and a couple other djs spin it a handful of times and I have always been a big fan of it but was never able to find a high quality version. Now that it has been released I have, but I can't post it here, so here is the Bird Peterson remix. It is also amazing, and quite a bit harder than TF's. Check out the Treasure Fingers version on Beatport and buy it if you like it!

In Flagranti & Golden Bug

Golden Bug and In Flagranti always deliver when it comes to down n dirty disco. Get on this if that is your thing. Theres plenty of bongos, hand claps, and monotone female vocals to go around.

Bag Raiders Remixed

I'm a bit late on this one but I don't care; its funky enough to warrant a late post. Also Thelonius Crunk & co. believe that good music has a lifespan of >1 month, unlike a lot of the bloggers out there [just a matter of taste. no offense intended yall]. So here is Bag Raiders' "Shooting Star" with Shazam, one of my favorite producers, on remix duty. He serves up an intense 70's esque funked out coke jam. Enjoy.

Danger's latest ep is due out soon so here is a taste. 4h30 is classic Danger; raw 8-bit inspired synths, hard beats, and epic breakdowns. It surely does not disappoint. If you like this track make sure you pick up the rest of the ep when it drops!

Sebastien Tellier and Hypnolove

Sebastien Tellier is at it again, once again with a remix by Hypnolove. Their remix of his "La Ritournelle" was amazing, and this one certainly does not disappoint.

Baron

Baron, born and raised in the great city of Newark, NJ and currently residing in NYC, is a purveyor of excellent music. Drawing from diverse influences including Hall & Oates, Goldfrapp, and Kanye West, he has forged his own style of rapping, and it certainly has garnered himmuch attention. Among the praise is his song "Feel Like Fashion"being nominated for a 2009 Out Music award for best rap/hip hop song. Here is the second remix I did for him. I think it worked out pretty well.

Crystal Fighters

I have heard the original of this song and I think it is pretty great; the vocal is haunting and its a big jaunty heap of synth goodness bordering on electroclash, but Arcade manages to clean it up a bit for the dancefloor without losing much of the beauty of the song as the Renaissance Man version did, which in wonderful in its own right. It wasn't included on the official release however, so here it is for free!

The Return of Bag Raiders

The latest release by my favorite producers from down under, Bag Raiders, is a stellar one. Here is "All The Girls" from the Big Fun EP in high bitrate splendor. They execute the French sound impeccably but in their signature cartoonish manner and the rap by Donnis isn't so shabby either.

Bonus:
This classic track by Moonbootica was released in March of 2005. There is no denying Moonbootica's influence on electronic music. They were 'blog house' before there was such a thing, and they did it right. Download this, put on some good headphones, and turn up the volume.
